Celebrating Success at the Max Trax Glow Roll Event

On Sunday 29th October, we had the incredible opportunity to team up with Max Trax at Delamere Park for their Glow Roll Event.
We loved hosting pumpkin painting, scavenger hunts, and arts & crafts activities. We also had our newly transformed M-Wagon parked up, collecting community ideas from the wonderful people of Openshaw. The Max Trax Glow Roll event also had a special visit from The Teenage Market, organized by the wonderful Winning Hearts and Minds team.
The cherry on top of an already fantastic day had to be the official announcement of Max Trax's planning permission being approved!
This is a giant achievement for the Max Trax team, and it wouldn't have been possible without the amazing support of the Openshaw community. With the planning permission approved, Delamere Park is not only getting the much-anticipated cycle track but also a community-led cafe and a cycle repair hub.
For those who have been following the journey, you'll know that this is a dream come true, especially for Kerrie, the driving force behind Max Trax. After losing her little boy at the age of four in 2017, Kerrie has dreamt big to keep Max's memory alive. A true pillar of the community, Kerrie set out on a mission to create a special place for the people of Openshaw.
Your support on our Crowdfunder campaign brought the dream to the fore to raise an INCREDIBLE £87,000 towards our target of £200,000. This financial support has been pivotal in bringing the dream to life.
The Max Trax Glow Roll Event was a day of celebration and joy, but it was also a testament to the power of community spirit. We couldn't be prouder of Kerrie and the Max Trax team, and we are thankful to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey.
Dreams do come true, and at Max Trax, they are becoming a reality.
